The Bronx working on fourth album
The Bronx The Bronx have announced on facebook that they've begun work on a new album:
We are currently putting together the pieces for what will soon be our fourth eponymous effort. that's right, champ. The Bronx (IV) is well under way.
[We are] looking for a place in the greater southern california area to start hammering out some preproduction in early march. if you have or know of a spot (preferably not your parents garage) that might be conducive to the next step in our creative endeavor, please let us know and we'll get back to you.
It's all happening."

While it's been nearly four years since the band's last full-length, The Bronx III in 2008, the group has been busy with their mariachi alter-egos, Mariachi El Bronx, who released two full-lengths in that time.

Generic Insight Radio to release pair of digital comps
Following 9 months of inactivity, Brooklyn-based webcast Generic Insight Radio will be releasing two posthumous digital compilations. Host Barrie Cohn had this to say:

Even though GIR came to an end in the summer of 2011, one of my regrets was intending to do a second compilation to follow up the first one from '07 and never getting it fully off the ground. The planning started for it, but several of the bands confirmed either broke up too soon or never followed through with their submissions. Right now, I don't have the funds to release a physical CD or vinyl comp, but with sites like Bandcamp and SoundCloud existing now, it makes these kind of projects much easier than it was five years ago. Also, it is up in the air if GIR Fest will be happening this year. So, why not have this as a temporary replacement?
The Volume 2 set will focus on punk and hardcore bands. Confirmed acts so far include All Teeth, The Reveling, Caleb Lionheart, Verses Narrow (featuring Sal Dell'aquila formerly of LaGrecia), Young Turks (ex-Broadway Calls bassist Matt Koenig) and Half Hearted Hero. It will be available on April 7th.

Volume 3 will feature acoustic, indie and rock acts including Oscar Albis Rodriguez (ex-Nakatomi Plaza), The Ghostwrite, Luther, and More Than Skies (featuring Adam of Sleep Bellum Sonno). Look for it on April 10th.

Both comps will be available at BandCamp and will be promoted at the associated Facebook page. We reviewed the first volume when it came out.
The Evaporators: "Busy Doing Nothing"

Gaslight Anthem complete recording
The Gaslight Anthem The Gaslight Anthem recently completed recording of the main album tracks from their upcoming major label debut. The Tweet from last Friday evening is pretty unambigious:
Every song done! Now recording b sides and covers! One more day in Nashville, shooting some press shots with Danny Clinch and then we're outta here!

The upcoming album will be their first for Mercury Records and the follow up to 2010's American Slang.

Public Image Limited: "One Drop"

At The Drive-In unveil show in Spain
At The Drive-In At The Drive-In have announced their first non-Coachella reunion date, but North Americans will have to wait a little bit longer for more shows. The newly added performance will take place in Costa Azahar, Spain at Festival Internacional de Benicàssim on July 12, 2012.

The band is high up on the bill, coming just below heavy hitters like the (also reunited) Stone Roses as well as New Order, and Florence + the Machine.

For a look back at the band, check out this interview we posted from when the band was still together.
The Promise Ring warm up in Milwaukee
The Promise Ring The Promise Ring performed three songs for Milwaukee radio station FM 102.1's Neighborhood Watch program. The three songs - Make Me A Mixtape," "Nothing Feels Good," and "Become One Anything One Time." - were a bit of a warm up for the band as it prepares for two reunion performances in Milwaukee and Chicago this coming weekend.
